Bad News

Dear Readers,

My laptop is down. Thus no new capped pics or uploading of older ones.

Lesson, never skimp on the Antivirus.

It started out just going slower, and then the DSL started to drag even on other devices. Then I started noticing black dialogue boxes popping up and the screensaver wouldn't go on when it should. Then things stopped responding, like windows.

Now when I try to get on, the screen is all black after I login.

I was able to access task manager, then through that the internet, and from that window I got to my desktop and am now running Spybot Search And Destroy the paid version to see if this can be fixed.

If this doesn't work that means I need to buy a new laptop. That may take a month or two.

Capping on my tablet doesn't work. But I can stay in touch with it.

Sincerely,
Gensabi

    1. Well, after the virus scan I restarted the laptop and it's still doing the same thing. I can login, but the Windows 8 tiles aren't coming up, no desktop, but I can still gain access through the task manager. I think only a few things aren't backed up. Once I back those up it's either buy what I used to use and see if I can fix it or buy a new laptop. Or a Surface Pro 3.

  3. You don't need to buy a new laptop, you just need to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows 8. If you have the original Windows 8 DVD, you can restart the machine and have it load directly from the disk, giving you the option to wipe your hard drive and install a new version of Windows. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, it will cost a lot less than a new laptop to have a professional do it for you. I hope it works out for you - I love your captions!

    1. That's a good idea. I did make backup discs I believe. I have to find them though. Thanks!

  6. Actually, I don't need to redo it from disc. I'm not feeling well today but I hope by the end of the week I'll be setup. Just feel sleepy. Had a headache too.
