Dear Readers,
I finally just logged back into those, they were way behind on updates, and it seemed like spammers had taken over.
Yahoo Groups are pretty much dead since the format change. It lasted from 2004 to 2016 but I don't think I had updated it since last year at the earliest.
So, this is it now. I'm going to update the links section.
Sincerely,
Gensabi
:-( I got your update in my email. I'm always sad when a piece of history is erased, but all things must change.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Yahoo intentionally sabotaged the Groups system.
They did. I mean, on one hand it hadn't been updated in years so it wasn't exactly modern, but the format worked. I successfully got them to add a pic downloading function after their heinous update but it was just too complicated to navigate and manage.
DeleteIt was harder to figure out how to ban spammers, remove the spam, and get rid of the pics they uploaded. That's why I just up and deleted them. I am going to miss all the comments and posts on there over the years but I really couldn't manage them anymore.
Now that the archives are downloadable I think it's going to be easier to access, keep, and read. At least the blog can't be taken over by spammers.
I feel that yahoo groups is just dead in general. I used to use it often but all the groups I was in are just full of spam and not updated. I cant even remember how to log in now.
ReplyDeleteDitto. I only know of one active group and I barely remember how to log in. I'm hoping everyone from the groups found the blog.
DeleteWere there great caps in there? Did you save them?
ReplyDeleteAll those caps are all in the downloadable archives. Unlike other captioners I saved and kept all my works.
