Technical Difficulties Persist

Dear Readers,

So I tried getting my tablet to work multiple times tonight but no luck. Display driver is erroring now. According to a comment it might actually be dying.

So if that's the case don't expect more for awhile or my retirement may be permanent. I don't know about trying my laptop. I haven't really done the laptop since getting the tablet. Last time I had it on I couldn't access the internet on it. So that's the thing right now.

Sincerely,

Gensabi

    Digiland Tablet Display Driver Errors

Digiland brand Windows OS tablet. display driver error

Display driver errors on Windows tablets can often be resolved with some standard troubleshooting steps. Since Digiland tablets sometimes have specific driver needs, here's a plan focusing on the most likely solutions:

    🛠️ Display Driver Troubleshooting Steps

Start with the simplest steps first. You may need an external mouse and keyboard if the tablet display is completely unusable.

    1. Restart the Graphics Driver

This is the quickest fix for a temporary crash:

Press the Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B simultaneously.

What it does: This forces Windows to restart the graphics driver. You should hear a beep and the screen might flash briefly.

    2. Use the Hardware & Devices Troubleshooter

Windows has a built-in tool that can often identify and fix driver issues.

Press Windows key + R to open the Run box.

Type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to launch Command Prompt as Administrator.

Type (or copy/paste) the following command and press Enter: msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    3. Update or Roll Back the Driver in Device Manager

A recent Windows update might have installed an incompatible driver.

Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

    Expand the Display adapters section.

Right-click on your display adapter (it's likely an Intel HD Graphics driver) and select Properties.

    Go to the Driver tab.

If you see the error after a recent change: Click Roll Back Driver (if available) to return to the previous version.

If you have an older driver: Click Update Driver. Select Search automatically for updated driver software and let Windows look for a better driver.

    4. Reinstall the Driver

If updating or rolling back doesn't work, completely removing the driver can force a clean installation.

In Device Manager, right-click on your display adapter.

    Select Uninstall device.

Crucially, if prompted, check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device."

    Click Uninstall.

Restart your tablet. Windows should automatically detect the hardware and reinstall a generic or correct driver upon reboot.

    5. Check the Digiland Support Website

Since Digiland is the manufacturer, they may have specific, non-standard drivers that are required for the tablet's hardware.

Try searching the official Digiland support site (you may need the specific model number, like "DL801W" or similar, usually found on the back of the tablet) for the latest graphics/display drivers.

Note: Sometimes, especially with smaller manufacturers, a driver meant for a similar tablet model might work if the exact one is unavailable.

    6. Adjust Visual Effect Settings

Sometimes performance settings can conflict with the driver.

Press Windows key + R and type sysdm.cpl, then press Enter.

    Go to the Advanced tab.

    Under Performance, click Settings.

In the Visual Effects tab, select Adjust for best performance.

    Click Apply and OK.

If the display is completely black, you may need to connect an external monitor (if your tablet has a Mini-HDMI or similar port) or boot into Safe Mode to perform these steps.
    Maybe this helps fingers crossed.
